Die neue Todeszelle im Mississippi State Prison: Parchman: Interview mit Devin Bennett...

Im Laufe der Jahre in denen ich mit mehreren Gefangenen in den USA Brieffreundschaften unterhalte, wurden mir viele Dinge bewusst. Unter anderem, dass wir alle unter bestimmten Umständen zu allen Dingen fähig wären. Ausnahme Situationen können schnell eskalieren und ein Moment, ein falsche Handlung ... das ganze Leben verändern. Was ich aber auch über die Jahre erlebt habe ist, dass die Bibel Menschen verändert. Es geht nicht nur um Vergebung der Schuld, sondern wie die Bibel es sagt, dass wenn jemand in Christus ist, er eine neue Schöpfung ist. Das alte ist Vergangen, neues ist geworden. Mit Devin Bennett verbindet mich eine längere Freundschaft ... und was er im Gefängnis für Gott tun darf hat mich tief beeindruckt. Ich kann mich dem Gebet nur anschließen, dass der Herr die Türen für eine neue Aufnahme ermöglicht. Möge der Herr Bruder Devin Bennett weiterhin segnen und zum Segen für andere setzen, dem er dienen und die Frohe Botschaft weitergeben darf.

Over the years that I have been corresponding with several prisoners in the USA, I have become aware of many things. Among other things, that under certain circumstances, we are all capable of anything. Exceptional situations can quickly escalate, and one moment, one wrong action... can change your whole life. But what I have also experienced over the years is that the Bible changes people. It is not just about forgiveness of sins, but as the Bible says, when someone is in Christ, they are a new creation. The old has passed away, the new has come. I have a long-standing friendship with Devin Bennett... and what he is able to do for God in prison has deeply impressed me. I can only join in prayer that the Lord will open the doors for a new reception. May the Lord continue to bless Brother Devin Bennett and use him to be a blessing to others whom he may serve and to whom he may share the Good News.
